Staff, Volunteers & Teachers
The IHM Center for Literacy is grateful for our volunteers who are administrators, teachers, tutors, and classroom aides. Our volunteers make literacy come alive. Whether teaching English, helping with computers, or offering a friendly welcome at the door, they empower adult learners to build brighter futures for themselves and their families.

Volunteer Hours:
“My name is Migdalia Marte. I came to the United States two years ago from the Dominican Republic. I have been coming to the IHM Center for Literacy for two years. I like living in The United States because there are more important opportunities to reach my goals here. Learning English is important to me because it will help me to get better job and to have a better life.
I like coming to the IHM Center for Literacy because the classes are very good, the registration fee is affordable, and it’s near my house. The school environment is safe and friendly. My classmates are very helpful. They come to class every day after work. I need English in my work and in everyday activities. My experience as an immigrant has been good. I help the United States by being a good person and a hard worker. I appreciate what the IHM Center is doing for us.” — Migdalia Marte
